Breaking: Stakeholders Protest as Minister Sets minimum Admission age at During JAMB Policy Meeting

 

Stakeholders at the JAMB policy meeting voiced strong opposition after the minister reiterated that candidates under 18 are a significant source of crises in universities. The announcement, made at the Body of Benchers’ auditorium in Abuja, was met with loud protests and chants of “No, no, no” from attendees.

Despite the uproar, the minister stood firm, clarifying that the age requirement is now a federal government policy. He emphasized that this measure aims to address major issues in tertiary institutions, particularly universities.

At the end of the deliberation it was concluded, that Candidates who are 16 years old would be considered for admissions into tertiary institutions for the 2024 academic year, however , the entry age would be 18 years as from next academic year.
