UTME: JAMB Cancels Registrations of 817 Candidates For The 2023 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has cancelled the registrations of 817 candidates in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The Board Registrar , Prof. Is-haq Oloyede,  made this known after a meetings with stakeholders, said the registrations were invalidated over identified infractions bordering on use of multiple /different biometric fingerprints in the registration process.

He Further stated that some registration  officers  in the affected 178 Computer Based Test (CBT) centres added one or more of their fingerprints to complete the registration process for the candidates, the board Registrar  said the 817 students would be given another opportunity to re-register , it you are among this number, You don't have to worry about repayment of registration fee, as the registrar has started that the CBT center will bear the cost

He also stated that: “For the students who allowed other Multiple finger to be added to their registration procedure. We found that some of them were aware.

“Some of them did it deliberately for impersonation but we can’t identify those who are genuine from those who are not genuine. We will cancel all the registrations and we will ask them to re-register.

“The centres involved, we have just met with them, and they all confessed. Nobody is disputing it, even students that were telling lies, they know we have the technology that won’t allow any lie to be accommodated.

“On their own (CBT owners), they suggested the solution. We will cancel the registrations of those people concerned and we will send a message to them to go back to the very centres  where they were registered and the CBT centres will pay to the board the cost of registration.

So You don't have to worry about extra Registration cost, if you are among this candidates. All you need to do is wait for a notification from Jamb and then proceed to the CBT center where you initially did your registration to re-register. Read my advice below.

MY PERSONAL ADVICE TO ALL CANDIDATE.

I will advice you don't wait for JAMB to notify you, even if you where not notified, please I recommend you visit the CBT center where you registered to confirm your registration status, if your registration was cancelled or not, because Jamb might make mistake in the notification process or you might not receive the notification due to network or other issue, so to avoid issues during your UTME please go and check your registration status.

Thank You.
