The exam body disclosed this in a Monday post on X.
The management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) says it will release the results of the May/June 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) today.
The school examination was taken by 1,814,344 candidates in 22,229 secondary schools nationwide.
WAEC acting Head of Public Affairs, Mrs. Moyosola Adesina, said the Head of National Office (HNO), Dr. Amos Dangut will announce the release of May/June 2024 WASSCE at Yaba headquarters on Monday.
Dangut had said in April 2024 that out of 1.8million students, 902,328 (49.73 percent) are males and 912,016 females (50.27 percent).
He said the 1.8million candidates were examined in 76 subjects, made up of 197 papers while 30,000 secondary school teachers supervised the examination.
The release of the 2024 WASSCE results will brighten the chances of candidates, who applied for admission in 2023/2024 academic session into the universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.

 How to check WAEC result

For the students who will be checking results, here are the steps to follow:
Checking Results 2024 Online

You can check using university Student Companion app. Download app
  • Visit the WAEC official results checker website: WAEC result checker. (https://waecdirect.org)
  • Enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number in the designated field.
  • Enter the 4 digits of your Examination Year eg. 2024
  • Select the Type of Examination
  • Enter the e-PIN Voucher Number
  • Enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your e-PIN or Waec plastic Id 
  • Click Submit and wait for the results window to come up .

Checking WAEC result 2024 via SMS

Step 1: Type WAECExaminationnumberPIN*Examyear through your phone (there should not be a space in between).
Step 2: Send to 32327
Step 3: You will receive a message instantly containing your WAEC statement of result.
It should be noted that only MTN, Glo, and Airtel subscribers can actually check their results using this SMS method.
SMS charges will be applied when checking your WASSCE result using text messages.
